3 Best Games of The Week – 28

The first game that we chose for this week’s edition of the 3 best games is the win of the Chinese Grandmaster Lu Shanglei against the Bosnian legend Bojan Kurajica in the recently finished Cappelle la Grande Open. Having the white pieces, he got a nice edge out of the opening in the form of the development advantage. It’s interesting to watch how he keeps increasing the pressure to convert this small plus.

Game 1:

The second is a decisive game played in the last round of the Gibraltar Open between two of the leaders before the 10th round, top Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura and Spanish talent GM David Anton. Nakamura played aggressive right from the start and managed to outplay his younger opponent in a difficult position.

Game 2:

We are going to finish with another nice energetic game played in an Indian derby in the Tradewise Gibraltar Open, between Pentala Harikrishna and Santosh Vidit. In a London System, white took advantage of black’s slightly weakened kingside to start a deadly attack.

Game 3:

If you want to improve your chess level, you need to have a clear study plan. If you aim for a dramatic improvement at chess you need to work on all of the elements of the game in a systematic way:

  • tactics

  • and much more

That seems to be like a lot of things, and that is. But no worries, we have made it easy for you. Our comprehensive training course covers it all and much more. Sign up for 21 Day Training right now!
