Roumen was born in Bulgaria in 1976 and first arrived in the United States as a Rotary International exchange student at the age of 17.

Roumen Bezergianov is a Psychotherapist, Author of Character Education with Chess, living in Phoenix, Arizona. He counsels students at Arizona State University.

Roumen studies how chess can be used by parents and educators to teach values and skills to young people.

He is also an amateur chess player and a big supporter of the game.
