Product Description

You are probably tired of all the chess tactics courses that teach you what a fork is, right?

Seriously, you are not a 900-rated player anymore. You know all the tactical motifs and the ideas behind them. You have done countless exercises, watched videos, and now you have got the fundamentals down.

Now you need something more advanced—a training that goes beyond one-move puzzles and explores tactical themes and combinations instead.

That’s where IM Boroljub Zlatanovic’s 3rd course in his Complete Tactics Manual series comes in. This one is aimed at advanced chess players who have graduated past the beginner stage and are ready for a bigger challenge.

Broken down into 11 chapters where every chapter contains 12 real-game examples, this exclusive training takes your tactical training to a whole new level.

What you will learn:

  • Forced moves have taken up a notch. Putting a fork on the King and the Queen is like the Grandmaster of Forks! When White lands that knight on e7, Black hasn’t got a choice but to recapture the rooks. At first look, Black seems to be exchanging two rooks for the White queen, right? Wait! Did you consider the back-rank issue yet? Let IM Zlatanovic show you how this position was reached.
  • Black played …Rf5+? Unfortunately, that was not the right move. What do you think the right move is? Don’t look for the next move. Instead, try to figure out the idea behind the combo. Hint: lure White into making a harmless move and then turn that into a blunder. Sounds complicated? IM Zlatanovic goes through this position in Chapter 9.
  • Look beyond the obvious. Which moves do you see? Maybe exchanging off those bishops? Putting the knight on e4? Or activating the light-squared bishop? This is where you need to dig deeper. Tactical opportunities are “hidden” in plain sight. For example, who would have thought that sacrificing the Black queen by capturing the e3-pawn is the answer?
