About the Authors:

IM Mat Kolosowski [FIDE 2451]

is an International Master from Poland. He is a multiple Polish youth championship medalist. In 2010 he took 5th place in European U-18 Championship. During the course of his chess career Mat won many international tournaments. Apart from being a player, he is also a chess coach who has experience working with students from more than 20 countries. So far he helped a few of them in obtaining their own international titles. Mat has also performed live commentary of the Polish and European Rapid and Blitz Championships.

IM Valeri Lilov [FIDE 2438]

better known as Tiger Lilov is a professional chess coach and lecturer renowned for his personalized approach to training students and professional players from all over the world. Having been an active tournament player all his life, he has won many international open tournaments and championships including the European Individual School Chess Championship U10 (Moscow, 2000) and the Kulaga Memorial International Open (Minsk, 2007).

GM Davorin Kuljasevic [FIDE 2591]

GM Davorin Kuljasevic is a Croatian GM, who graduated from Texas Tech University and played in USCL 2007 and 2008 for Dallas Destiny, becoming the US champion in both years. He is an experienced coach and a winner of many tournaments: Castelfranco Veneto 2014, Split Open 2013, Mitropa Cup 2013 with the team of Croatia, Lubbock Spice Cup Spring 2011, Rijeka Open 2011, etc.

GM Marian Petrov [FIDE 2537]

is an accomplished professional chess coach, theorist, and Bulgarian champion in 2002 and 2017, as well as a winner of many open tournaments around the world. Also a FIDE trainer and coach of the team of Wales at the last Olympiad in Baku in 2016. He graduated from the National Sports Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria with a Bachelor’s degree in Chess Pedagogy, a four-year undergraduate program designed to prepare top-level chess trainers.

GM Jacek Stopa (FIDE 2544)

Jacek Stopa, originally from Poland, started playing chess at the age of 8 after randomly buying a chess set on a winter vacation. His father taught him how to play and he soon became addicted. Jacek earned his International Master title at age 18 and was the European Team Chess Champion in Solving Chess Problems in 2008. He has developed into a very effective chess instructor over the last six years, helping many young chess players reach their maximum potential.

IM Bence Szabo [FIDE 2406]

is a Hungarian International Master and an active tournament player. Bence previously held the National and European Youth Champion title. IM Szabo has over 10 years of coaching experience with some of his top students becoming National Champions in different age categories and claiming various international norms and titles. Bence works as a head coach in one of the largest chess schools in Hungary. He has worked with multiple medal-winning Olympic Grandmasters and other top talents.

GM Misa Pap [FIDE 2521]

is a self-made Serbian Grandmaster. He is a winner of 16 international tournaments with 2600+ performances, a former youth Champion of Yugoslavia, and a 3-time Champion of Vojvodina. GM Pap is a regular participant in the European Chess League and has over 15 years of coaching experience. He is also a regular contributor to Chess Informant.

GM Bryan Smith [FIDE 2503]

is an American Grandmaster and chess coach. GM Smith has won many international tournaments including Limpedea Cup (Romania), Citta di Erba (Italy), Easter International (Serbia), Philadelphia International, National Chess Congress, US Masters, etc.

FM Yuriy Krykun (FIDE 2382)

Is a Ukrainian FIDE master and member of the National Team with ELO of 2372 and IM norm. He played in many National and International tournaments, winning over 10 medals. Bronze medal winner in European U18 Championship. Full-time chess player, coach, and author of multiple publications.

IM Andrey Ostrovskiy (FIDE 2456)

is a professional chess player and coach currently residing in Germany.  Andrey got second in Ukrainian Youth Championship and represented his country in the European Championship. He has won many National and International events and achieved his first Grandmaster norm in 2015.

GM Alexander Ipatov (FIDE 2612)

is an International Chess Grandmaster and a member of the Turkish National Team. He is a World Junior Chess Champion and Vice-Champion in 2012 and 2013. GM Ipatov is a winner and medalist in various international events in Spain, France, the USA, the South African Republic, the Netherlands, Greece, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, and Bulgaria.

GM Krisztian Szabo [2564 FIDE]

is a Hungarian Grandmaster. He has won multiple Hungarian National Championships, European Youth Championship, and World Youth Championship (Silver) and has represented his country as part of the adult national team. GM Szabo is a celebrated coach, he is second to Richard Rapport, he was coaching Aryan Chopra (Grandmaster at 14) and many International Masters. He has also worked extensively with Peter Leko and Judit Polgar, having spent around 6 years with each of them.
