What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Master Card, Visa, AMEX, Discover as well as PayPal.
Do you accept payments in currencies other than USD?
Yes. Regardless of the currency you are using, once you place the order with your debit/credit card or PayPal it’ll get automatically converted into USD.
Do you offer physical DVDs?
All of our courses are digital downloads, at this moment we do not offer physical DVDs. We also have streaming available for some of the courses.
I placed an order but didn’t download the purchase and my links expired. Can you renew it?
You can recreate the download links directly from your TCW account. Here is how to do it: full tutorial.If that did not work, please contact support and we’ll send you new links for your purchase.
I’ve made purchases on TCW but they down appear in my TCW account. What should I do?
Most likely, the purchases were made as a ‘Guest’ without first logging into the account. If you want the courses to be attached to your account it is best to log in prior to placing your order.
In the case you didn’t log in and placed the order and want the purchase to be added to your TCW account please contact support and indicate the order number along with the account email address.
I placed an order but don’t see download links in my mailbox. What should I do?
Please check your spam and promotions folders/tabs. Most likely it ended up there. We also strongly recommend whitelisting our email addresses. Here is a quick tutorial for you. If you still don’t see it, please contact support.
Do you offer previews and samples of your courses?
Absolutely! Most of our video courses (and all new courses) come with a video preview that you can watch directly on the product page.
Do I need any additional software to watch your courses?
TCW courses are zipped mp4 video files compatible with Mac, PC, tablet, iPhone, or Android. You won’t need any additional software to play it.
How do I open PGN files?
Some courses come with PGN files, containing chess notation for the games presented in the videos. If you wish to do your own analysis for those games, you’ll need a PGN-viewer such as a free ChessBase Reader.
The video doesn’t play on my device. What should I do?
If you have problems playing the video on your PC or Mac I suggest you download a Free VLC Video Player by following this link. It is available for Windows, iOS and Linux OS. Alternatively, you can stream many of the courses directly from the website.
The links have expired. How can I download the videos?
Step 1. Login into your TCW Account: https://thechessworld.com/store/account Step 2. After you log in, click on ORDERS and select VIEW the order you are looking to download. Step 3. Next, scroll to the bottom and press RECREATE DOWNLOAD LINKS Step 4. Download the files by clicking the newly created links as shown below. Here is the full tutorial with images for you.
How to stream video courses?
If the course supports streaming please refer to the full tutorial here for step-by-step streaming instructions. In two words, please login into your account, and go to the product page in the store to stream the course.
Do you offer gift certificates?

What rating level are your courses for?
The majority of our products are suitable for chess players rated from 1000 to 2300 ELO. We also have complete beginners courses for those totally new to chess.
Do you offer training materials in any other languages rather than English?
Currently, all chess courses are only available in English.

How to update the payment information in my account?
After you log into your TCW account, please click on ‘Payment methods’ to update your credit card information.
I have a recommendation for the course, a blog post, or found a typo. Whom should I contact?
Please contact us with your idea, if it generates enough interest we will cover it in video or text format. If you report a typo we’ll fix it!
